About the Role:

This role will contribute to the growth of our global critical minerals consulting team and to the of our broader Energy Transition teams projects for private and public sector clients by providing analytical rigor expertise in model development and the ability to manage entire workstreams and develop clientready deliverables. The Principal Consultant focused primarily on critical minerals but with a good handle of other energyrelated topics is expected to help build up our consulting capabilities around critical minerals and work closely with clients and internal consulting team members to ensure that bespoke consulting projects are delivered with quality on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of consultants and experts with wideranging backgrounds in energy and the energy transition. The varied and changing nature of our projects leads to development of a diverse set of skills and exposure to different industries and clients including senior industry leaders and policy makers.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage entire workstreams within a larger project under the direction of the project manager.
  • Contribute to business winning and business development efforts of our critical minerals consulting practice (proposals scoping calls conferences etc.
  • Deliver against each projects plan to ensure ontime delivery of a quality set of products.
  • Conduct client interviews workshops and presentations to gather information and present recommendations.
  • Develop insights and recommendations based on data analysis and industry expertise.
  • Efficiently review analysis and modelling efforts done by other team members and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and understanding of client needs.
  • Be able to work autonomously in the of consulting engagements.

What Were Looking For:

  • Four to eight years of experience in industry consulting or finance environments
  • Extensive experience in metals & mining consulting or direct mining company experience (in a strategy role finance role or operational role).
  • Indepth knowledge of the metals & mining market is critical for this position including understanding market dynamics supply chains and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in areas related to the energy sector is appreciated preferably in roles associated to operations energy efficiency lowcarbon energy or sustainable practices.
  • Exposure to various aspects of the energy value chain including production processing or distribution and consumption.
  • Experience in management consulting will be a significant plus.
  • The ability to work with autonomy and minimal direction once priorities are agreed is preferrable.
  • Minimum qualifications are BSc. in a related field.
  • A postgraduate degree is a strong plus (including in finance economics or business).
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills in English knowledge of another language is appreciated.
  • Must have an analytical frame of mind and be prepared to use data to back up opinions.
  • Some travel is required with an average around 20 of the time (but could occasionally be more)
  • Ability to work well in a teamoriented environment providing ideas and open feedback.
