About the role

As a key member of the Capital Markets & Corporate Development team at Anthropic youll play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategy and corporate trajectory during a critical period of growth at Anthropic. Youll help lead capital raising initiatives manage investor relationships and drive strategic corporate development activities including investments and M&A opportunities. Working closely with our leadership team youll help ensure Anthropic has the financial resources and strategic partnerships needed to fulfill our mission of building reliable interpretable and steerable AI systems.

In this role youll leverage your expertise across capital markets financial strategy and corporate development to identify opportunities that align with our longterm vision. The ideal candidate brings a sophisticated understanding of financial markets strong analytical capabilities and exceptional relationshipbuilding skills to help steer Anthropic through its next phase of growth while maintaining our commitment to responsible AI development.

Responsibilities:

• Lead capital raising processes working with executive leadership to determine timing structure and terms for potential financing rounds
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential investors serving as a key point of contact for the investment community
• Develop comprehensive investor relations strategies including communications reporting and engagement plans
• Identify evaluate and execute strategic investment opportunities and M&A transactions aligned with Anthropics mission and growth objectives
• Create detailed financial models valuation analyses and market research to support strategic decisionmaking
• Collaborate crossfunctionally with Finance Legal and Research teams to align corporate development activities with organizational priorities
• Monitor industry trends competitive landscape and market conditions to identify strategic opportunities and potential risks
• Lead due diligence processes for potential investments or acquisitions
• Prepare and present recommendations to leadership and the board on capital structure financing strategies and corporate development opportunities
• Help develop and refine Anthropics overall corporate strategy in collaboration with leadership

You may be a good fit if you:

• Have 7 years of experience across investment banking private equity venture capital or corporate development roles
• Possess deep knowledge of capital markets financial instruments and transaction structures
• Have a proven track record of successfully executing capital raises investments or M&A transactions
• Demonstrate exceptional financial modeling and analytical capabilities
• Are a strategic thinker who can connect financial decisions to longterm organizational goals
• Have excellent communication skills and can effectively engage with diverse stakeholders including investors executives and technical teams
• Thrive in fastpaced environments and can manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Show sound judgment when evaluating risks and opportunities in ambiguous situations
• Are passionate about AI safety and align with Anthropics mission to develop AI systems that are reliable interpretable and steerable

Strong candidates may also:

• Have experience in technology or AIrelated industries
• Possess advanced degrees in finance business or related fields
• Have experience with both public and private market transactions
• Demonstrate knowledge of AI research and development landscapes
• Show intellectual curiosity about the technical aspects of AI safety and alignment
• Have a strong professional network in relevant investment communities
• Bring experience working in highgrowth missiondriven organizations

Logistics

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Locationbased hybrid policy: Currently we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25 of the time. However some roles may require more time in our offices.

Visa sponsorship:We do sponsor visas! However we arent able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

And we value impact advancing our longterm goals of steerable trustworthy AI rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. Were an extremely collaborative group and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highestimpact work at any given time. As such we greatly value communication skills.
