Position Purpose

Manage an account base of engaged COOP employers by supporting operations related to sourcing prospective employers following up on new job leads in targeted industry sectors and report jobdevelopment progress on a regular basis in order to help develop new job opportunities for the COOP Program.

Collaborate with the Placement Operations Coordinators and Specialist Business Development and Partnerships during peak periods to support operations maintain service levels and maximize placementprocess results.

Act as a uOttawa Ambassador with potential and current employers to promote the image of the University and the COOP Program.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinates the full COOP Placement Operations for an engaged set of COOP employers to ensure excellent customer service and support in hiring COOP students and acts as backup for Intermediate Specialist Business Development and Partnerships when needed ensuring smooth placement processes. Shares tasks and covers for other Analyst Business Development and Partnerships who could be temporarily assigned to other teams.

  • Plans schedules and executes COOP student midterm evaluations within the timeframe provided while gathering intel on trends within those accounts.

  • Updates the database with relevant and useful information to facilitate business continuity when others replace you.

  • Maintains and grows a small portfolio of COOP employers that might require particular attention and outofthe box initiatives to sustain their growth.

  • Works with various students and team members to assist our team of Specialist Business Development and Partnerships with their account maintenance and cleanup of the database.

  • Works with various students and team members to assist our team of Specialist Business Development and Partnerships with their business development strategies including market research to source potential employers and job opportunities suitable for the program.

  • Initiates current and develops new promotional campaigns to assist the team designed to increase the number of employers that hire.

  • Promotes the program in order to secure job opportunities from prospective & existing employers through emails cold calls and social media by passing on job leads to Specialist Business Development and Partnerships when appropriate.

  • Maps and conducts research to source potential partners and community engagement placements and initiatives suitable for our existing and new programs and secure relevant experiential learning opportunities for students.

  • Attends and participates to trade shows career fairs networking and other related events to gather new business and promote the COOP program and our other forms of experiential learning available to our community partners. Keep current on industry and job market trends and updates team accordingly. Develop new leads and updates our database (CRM) with relevant information.

What you will bring:

  • Knowledge of business development and account management principles normally acquired through a university degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role. Related Work Integrated Learning / COOP or marketing experience (an asset).

  • Bilingualism French and English (spoken and written).

  • Experience using Customer Relation Management (CRM) tools and proficient in Excel.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a team environment where priorities change often.

  • Experience organizing and prioritizing work in relation to tight deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting market research and reporting.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills enthusiastic proactive and motivated in following up with employers.

  • Ability to be thorough accurate and have a high level of attention to detail.

  • Superior communications skills verbally and in writing. Ease at public speaking and ability to present in both official languages.

  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office Internet Research with good email management skills.
