The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Volunteer Association is a not for profit organization responsible for providing volunteer support and raising funds in support of the Brantford General and Willett Paris. The BCHS Volunteer Association is an engaged partner to the BCHS and contributions made to the Association are directed to the Foundation to benefit the purchase of patient equipment renovate spaces and provide investment in resources to enhance the exceptional care provided at the BCHS.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Volunteer Engagement the Volunteer Association Assistant is a key member of the BCHS Volunteer Association team providing daytoday administrative and program support. This frontline role serves as a positive helpful and knowledgeable representative to both internal and external stakeholders including volunteers visitors hospital staff Board members and community leaders. The Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within the office.
Primary Responsibilities
Support the BCHS Volunteer Association with daily tasks related to volunteer engagement.
Lead the coordination and analysis of volunteer surveys.
Assist the Fundraising Committee Chair with planning and organizing annual fundraisers in support of the BCHS Volunteer Association.
Collaborate with the Fundraising Committee to identify and plan future special events and fundraising initiatives.
Provide administrative support to the BCHS Volunteer Association Board including drafting correspondence preparing presentations and performing other duties as required.
Maintain accurate volunteer records and update contact information in the Better Impact database in a timely and consistent manner.
Assist the Board Chair with preparing materials for Board meetings the Annual General Meeting and coordinating committee meetings.
Support the review and updating of policies procedures position descriptions and the board orientation manual.
Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of volunteer association and office filesboth electronic and hard copy.
Qualifications
This position is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible applicants must:
Apply through the Canada Summer Jobs portal: between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment period
Be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or have been granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment
Be legally entitled to work in Canada under applicable provincial or territorial laws and regulations
Note: International students are not eligible.
Position Details
Contract dates: June 2 to July 25
Fulltime: 35 hours per week for 8 weeks
