The Opportunity:
The Admissions Specialist II works with International Immigration admissions. This position serves as a SEVIS Designated School Official (DSO) and is responsible for entering information in the Student and Exchange Visitor System (SEVIS). The primary function is to make a final determination if students are eligible to receive immigration documents to attend the university and guide the students through the VISA process. Must be able to interpret and follow Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) rules and regulations related to admissions. The Admissions Specialist II works with the UCF Global International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) team and reports to the Director.

This is an Auxiliary funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
Responsibilities:
Communicates with prospective and admitted international students regarding the documents and process necessary to be granted a Form I20 from the University.
Receives immigration documents and updates Peoplesoft (student management system) and the Student and Exchange Visitor System (SEVIS). Notifies students and keeps them informed.
Tracks reports to verify admission status for all admitted students.
Liaises with Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions Intensive English and Pathways Programs to gather information and assure a students smooth transition to the university.
Collects and verifies all federally required immigration documents once students arrive in the country.
Remains current on all immigration regulations and identifies changes that might impact prospective and admitted international students.
Reviews reports to ensure accuracy of data updates existing data and fixes any SEVIS alerts.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience or Bachelors degree and 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of immigration regulations and policies pertaining to international students.
Familiarity with system processing tools such as Slate PeopleSoft and SEVIS.
Experience working with college students.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize daily tasks efficiently.
