DescriptionAt PacSci thePlanning Manager is responsible for leading the production planning site teams. The role focuses on improving optimizing and synchronizing order flows from sales shop floor and procurement. This position is an enabler to operational performance improvements to achieve best in class operations performance targets. The production planners and the demand planner will report directly to this role.
This role is onsite in Hollister CA.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of the SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning) process to drive stable longterm linearity while meeting the revenue plan.
- Address cost and schedule risks with counter measures and corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure customer requirements properly flow through system workflows.
- Set and maintain kanban replenishment at a cell/factory level
- Ability to articulate and analyze inventory projections and meet a minimum of 3.5 turns
- Lead team of assigned production planners to develop and execute to standard work.
- Leverage continuous improvement and standard work to optimize order flow performance.
- Hold team accountable with dashboards/Daily Management to timely action messages resolve order flow problems and support business and operation objectives.
- Refine working tools and leverage system performance to ensure efficient use of team members time by limiting administrative tasks so sufficient time to problem solve.
Leadership and Engagement:
- Lead by example in alignment with Lean and continuous improvement core behaviors.
- Champion talent management initiatives including ongoing leadership/employee development and succession planning.
- Set and own employee engagement strategy across the site operations team.
- Foster a culture committed to innovation and operational excellence.
- Communicate company and crossfunctional information effectively to the site.
- Provides direction to direct core reports and direct functional reports to accomplish objectives.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and accountability between departments.
Financial & Resource Management
- Responsible for department expense versus budget management of the site and the drive for cost structure optimization.
- Ownership of operational elements of working capital management including but not limited to inventory managementand disciplined expense management.
- Contribute to annual operating plans budgets forecasts and capital expenditures.
Qualifications:
- 7 years progressively responsible experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (ex. Automotive Medical Device Defense or Aerospace industries).
- 3 years management experience required.
- Experience working with Enterprise Resource System systems
- Demonstrated leadership of operational improvements and sustainment via lean manufacturing systems (TPS or equivalent).
- Experience working in a matrixed environment is preferred.
- A strong leader communicator and morale builder.
- Strong experience in strategic management planning and .
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skills in assessing and optimizing operations and organizational structures.
- Demonstrated learning agility.
- Experience in the aerospace/defense industry preferred.
- Practical and applied knowledge of materials planning production control and operations management practices.
- Experience with financial aspects of operations management.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent preferably in Engineering Supply Chain Operations or related field. Masters degree preferred.
