Details:

Overview:

Experienced Fire Protection Engineer to support projects in the power oil & gas water treatment and data center sectors. This role will involve engineering design code compliance and project with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate facilities and equipment to determine appropriate fire protection requirements.

  • Apply relevant state and local codes and standards including IBC IFC and NFPA.

  • Generate and review:

    • Code and hazard analysis documentation

    • Detailed fire protection specifications

    • Piping and instrumentation diagrams

    • Hydraulic calculations

    • Sprinkler and alarm system drawings/calculations for code compliance

  • Communicate fire protection requirements clearly with internal teams and external clients.

  • Interface with city and local officials; apply for variances when necessary.

  • Ensure adherence to company procedures policies and quality standards.

  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety across all project phases.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Fire Protection Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABETaccredited program (U.S..

  • Experience: At least 8 years of experience in fire protection engineering.

  • Licensure: Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and be actively pursuing or hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industrial facilities such as:

    • Power Plants

    • Oil & Gas Processing Facilities

    • Water Treatment Plants

    • Data Centers

  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles and codes.

  • Familiarity with quality programs procurement and contract administration.

  • Effective communicator with a drive for results strong planning skills and ability to manage priorities and ambiguity.

  • Customerfocused and capable of handling conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement.
