Experienced Fire Protection Engineer to support projects in the power oil & gas water treatment and data center sectors. This role will involve engineering design code compliance and project with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.
Evaluate facilities and equipment to determine appropriate fire protection requirements.
Apply relevant state and local codes and standards including IBC IFC and NFPA.
Generate and review:
Code and hazard analysis documentation
Detailed fire protection specifications
Piping and instrumentation diagrams
Hydraulic calculations
Sprinkler and alarm system drawings/calculations for code compliance
Communicate fire protection requirements clearly with internal teams and external clients.
Interface with city and local officials; apply for variances when necessary.
Ensure adherence to company procedures policies and quality standards.
Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety across all project phases.
Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Fire Protection Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABETaccredited program (U.S..
Experience: At least 8 years of experience in fire protection engineering.
Licensure: Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and be actively pursuing or hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with industrial facilities such as:
Power Plants
Oil & Gas Processing Facilities
Water Treatment Plants
Data Centers
Strong understanding of engineering design principles and codes.
Familiarity with quality programs procurement and contract administration.
Effective communicator with a drive for results strong planning skills and ability to manage priorities and ambiguity.
Customerfocused and capable of handling conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement.
