Job Description
Position Summary:
The Investigator Grants Team Manager will develop investigator grant/site budgets during the proposal process & revision generation and contribute to the clinical trial budgets. Manage and oversee the clinical site budgeting tools as well as other duties as determined by his/her supervisor in accordance with all departmental processes and timelines. Position may or may not include line management responsibilities.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Daytoday management of direct reports assigning workload and ensuring deliverables are developed and delivered on time with a high degree of quality and accuracy
- Primary responsibility for the generation of global investigator site budgets in support of the Precisions proposal process coordinating with vendors and other third parties as appropriate all within the defined proposal production schedule
- Overall coordination and accountability for the development of the investigator site budgets to be included in Precisions full proposals to our clients including but not limited to coordination of key operational areas and regions ensuring timelines are met and deadlines are achieved for Phase IPhase IV studies consulting and other various types of services as provided by company
- Provide extensive review of client materials to disseminate information and identify information gaps and/or discrepancies unique service requirements and translate information into the budget
- Participate in the strategy meeting
- Develops full site budget to accurately reflect study design and proposal assumptions
- Responsible for analyzing budget for company metrics appropriate pricing and accurate assumptions based on communications across the relative departments and partners. Able to use sophisticated financial formulas to assist the team in capturing appropriate details unique budgetary needs and mapping to client grids
- Answer client questions regarding proposed budget via written and verbal communications.
- Participate in development of contract documents for awarded projects. Responsible for ensuring appropriate language and financials are incorporated and documented as it pertains to site budget(s)
- Assists in the development of departmental procedures templates tools and tracking for the support of site budget development
- Assist in the training of lesserexperienced resources. Assists in crossfunctional training of department staff involved in proposal development
- As a secondary responsibility support Proposal Team with development of full CRO project budget and proposal/contract document(s) to accurately reflect resourcing needs for services requested using excelbased costing tool
- As a secondary responsibility assist with the development of change orders for ongoing studies. Including budget development and justification for such need. Communication with client to support project team in the delivery of change orders and providing necessary information to support the adjustments needed
- Contribute to the maintenance of departmental records and internal and intercompany reporting requirements including financial analysis of budgeted studies
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- 8 years experience in site budget and proposal development in the life sciences arena.
Other Required:
- Previous line management experience
- Outstanding interpersonal written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently toward delivering high quality clientready operational budgets and proposals
- Strong organizational and time management skills including ability to quickly shift priorities
- Detailed oriented with high focus on quality
- High proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications
- Able to work in a collaborative team environment to support departmental/company goals and values
- Minimal travel required for company meetings.
Competencies
- Strong knowledge of investigator grants development and site budgeting techniques
- Microsoft Office Product Suite
- Grants Manager or similar investigator site budgeting tools
- Additional customer related management tools as determined by the Business Operations teams
- Basic Medical Terminology
- Provide efficient quality control recognizing problems constructively identifying and articulating solutions
