Job Description
- Manage the selection acquisition and leasing of construction equipment and machinery.
- Establish and enforce a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
- Lead and oversee a team of equipment operators and maintenance staff.
- Deliver training and continuous support to ensure proper equipment usage and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Administer the budget for plant and machinery operations ensuring efficient use of financial resources.
- Track equipment usage and operational expenses identifying opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement.
- Ensure all machinery operations comply with relevant safety laws and industry regulations.
- Perform regular safety inspections and risk assessments addressing any issues through corrective measures.
- Maintain uptodate inventory records of all machinery and equipment including usage logs and service history.
- Manage the decommissioning and disposal of obsolete or nonfunctional equipment.
- Coordinate closely with project managers to determine machinery requirements for upcoming construction activities.
- Work with other departments to ensure timely allocation and availability of equipment for operational needs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least 6 years of handson experience in managing plant and machinery within the construction sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in equipment procurement maintenance operations and inventory/store management.
