Job Description

In order to be considered for this position the candidate must be serving permanently in the title of Principal Administrative Associate or must have taken passed and be reachable on the Open Competitive Principal Administrative Associate Exam # 1128 or be eligible under the 55a program.


The Division of Traffic Operations Automated Enforcement Unit seeks to hire a Principal Administrative Associate Level 2 who will serve as an Administrative Supervisor overseeing the Correspondence FOIL Retention and NYPD Video Request Units for all Automated Enforcement requests. The Administrative Supervisor will supervise a team of Clerical Associates responsible for all administrative functions related to Automated Enforcement and recordkeeping. The supervisor will be the office coordinator for purchasing and supplying essential equipment to the staff. The Automated Enforcement Unit receives numerous requests for video data retention and ZFOIL requests which are generated from the Automated Camera Systems throughout the five boroughs of New York. The selected candidate will ensure timely responses to all correspondence track requests and issue progress reports. The supervisor will work closely with NYPD NYCDOT legal as well as the current Automated Enforcement contractor daily. The supervisor will perform ad hoc reports and requests as mandated by the Assistant Commissioner Chief of Administration and Deputy Director of AEU.

Hours/Shift: 35 Hours/7 am 3 pm/MonFri


This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program agreed to between the City and DC37.

Qualifications :

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in 1 above; or
3. A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in 1 above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above. However all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in 1 above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in 1 above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 years.
