The YMCA of Southern Interior BC (SIBC) is a charitable association dedicated to building strong kids strong families and strong communities. Y programs provide experiences to over 30000 individuals annually in the areas of health fitness & recreation childcare day camping employment and community health. With a current annual operating budget of $19 million the association employs over 500 full and part time staff and has 125 volunteers.

Reporting to the Senior VP Strategy and Organizational Transformation and working in collaboration with the IT Coordinator the IT and AI Administrative Assistant will develop a comprehensive skill set valuable for their future IT career.
This position offers handson experience in IT support and AI policy development contributing to the YMCAs technological advancement and operational efficiency. The student will play a key role in advancing AI policy and usage with potential for future employment opportunities within the organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
AI Policy Development:
- Collaborate with the IT Coordinator to research and develop AI policies while staying updated on AI trends.
- Assist in drafting reviewing and finalizing policy documents.
- Help design and implement strategies for rolling out AI policies through training sessions which will educate staff.
DaytoDay IT Support:
- Provide help desk support basic IT training troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist with installation configuration and maintenance of IT equipment.
- Monitor and maintain the network for smooth operations.
- Support user account management and access permissions.
System Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on IT equipment.
- Ensure systems are uptodate with software updates and security patches.
Project Assistance:
- Support IT projects including system upgrades.
- Participate in project planning and .

- Enrollment in studies for a degree or diploma in Information Technology or related field.
- Experience and strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools and an interest in gaining experience with IT tools like Asana Basecamp and Trello.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and adaptability with ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with capability and desire to work within a collaborative team and possess an interest in growing into other IT related roles.
