ABOUT FAMILIES EMPOWERED
Families Empowered is a communitybased women and minorityled nonprofit parent service organization that envisions one day all families will have access to schools that work for them. With a leadership team and staff comprised of multiple firstgeneration college graduates we deeply understand the importance of empowered parents and the positive impact they can have on Texas communities. Each year we reach out to tens of thousands of families in Houston San Antonio Tarrant County and Austin through inperson events our bilingual call center text and social media and provide them with free personalized support to help them navigate their many great PreK12 school options.

ROLE OVERVIEW
NOTE: Bilingual in Spanish is required.
In order to support parents of PreK12 grade aged children in Texas Arizona and Florida who are struggling with finding the right school for their child Families Empowered views our Bilingual Communications Intern as a critical part of our team. The internship will focus on written translation of English marketing and communications copy to Spanish as well as assisting with organization of digital assets for marketing purposes
Interns will have the opportunity to work in the Families Empowered headquarters office located in Houston TX or may be eligible for a remote internship
