Rothman Orthopaedics is looking for a Radiologic Technologist to join our team!

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist operates radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographic images according to various physician protocols and performs epidural procedures. In addition to the routine tasks a Radiologic Technologist assumes responsibilities of designated area(s) and assists other departments when available.

Key Accountabilities:

Completion of requested xrays in a timely manner that are of highquality.

Essential Duties:

  • Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room.
  • Obtains the patients history to ensure proper scheduling.
  • Asks female patients of childbearing age the date of their last menstrual period and ensures that there is no possibility of pregnancy.
  • Prepares the patient for procedures by explaining the exam and answers his/her questions as best as possible.
  • Maintains patient comfort and safety while removing obscuring objects from the area of interest.
  • Provides radiation protection (shielding / collimation) for the patient self and others in accordance with prescribed safety standards of ALARA (including wearing his/her film badge).
  • Selects proper technical factors according to the size of the individual patient and produces/develops quality radiographs while using appropriate lead markers.
  • Critiques radiographs (density/detail/contrast/positioning/markers/anatomy visible) makes technical adjustments and performs repeats as necessary.
  • Along with the pain management team assists during fluoroscopic procedures (i.e.: epidural steroid injections hip aspirations).
  • Reports equipment problems to department supervisoroffice manager and vendor.
  • Participates in training of new employees.
  • Maintains safe radiologic practice per standards adapted and implemented by xray quality assurance policies.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Must have active valid registration and continued certification through the ARRT
  • New Yorkand New Jersey candidates must have active valid radiology licensure in their respective states
  • Floridacandidates must have active valid Florida CRT licensure
  • Knowledge of xray procedures and epidural procedures required.
  • Ability to operate all equipment andmachinery including processors and computer systems required.
