Join our NSX team to leverage your expertise as a Subject Matter Expert where your proficiency in VMware NSXT troubleshooting and robust networking background will be highly valued. We seek candidates with a deep understanding of data center protocols and technologies including BGP VRF MPLS IP TCP and UDP to drive innovative solutions and optimize our network infrastructure.
As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team youutilize strong knowledge combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems building more stable infrastructure and reducing repeated work through automation in our SDDC (VMware vCF) environments. You will join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. In this environment you will take the lead on relevant projects supported by an organization that provides the support and mentorship you need to learn and grow. As Infrastructure Engineer you will be focused on running better production applications and systems.
Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge and problemsolving methodologies to projects of moderate scope with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
- Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
- Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
- Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
- Drive mitigation and RCA to help in problem management
- Adds to team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3 years applied experience
- Seeking a SME in VMware NSXT troubleshooting and a strong networking background including knowledge of data center protocols and technologies such as BGP VRF MPLS IP TCP and UDP.
- Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware networking terminology databases storage engineering deployment practices integration automation scaling resilience and performance assessments
- Proficiency in servicelevel changes to a system and troubleshooting components with VMware vCF environments.
- Experienced as a VMware ESXi system engineer in an Enterprise class environment with VMware vSAN.
- Prior experience in both Systems Engineering and Software Development
- Experience in Modern compute technologies (e.g. virtualization cloud containers).
- Familiar with Agile development process and automated testing
- Experience working across large infrastructure environments and distributed across multiple data centers
- Experience in Systems and Application monitoring systems and instrumentation
- Strong background with VMware suite (vSphere 7.0 and up).
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Ability to execute within a customercentric environment
- Expertise in product and infrastructure support
- Strong criticalthinking and problemsolving skills with clear communication
