About the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation
The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to eliminate compulsory unionism abuses through strategic litigation and public information programs.
The Right to Work principle affirms the right of every American toearna living without being forced to belong to a union. Despite this principle millions of workers are compelled to associate with unions to keep their jobs.
Since 1968 the Foundation has provided free legal aid to workers to enforce their rights against compulsory unionism andestablishnew legal precedentsthatexpand those rights. Foundation attorneys have long been at the forefront of litigating key cases on this issue including nearly every major Supreme Court case on forced unionism. The practice areas of Foundation attorneys include:
Labor and administrative law before the National Labor Relations Board and other labor agencies;
Constitutional law before federal courts; and
Religious liberty law before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and courts.
About the Role
The Foundationisseekingan attorney to work in person at its office in Springfield Virginia which islocated inthe Washington D.C. metropolitanarea.
The positioninvolves collaboratingwith Foundation attorneys to provide legal representation to workers in cases that concern compulsory include draftingbriefs and otherlegaldocuments conducting legal research and participating in litigation before federal agencies and courts on behalf of applicants mustdemonstratestrong legal writing andanalyticalskills as well as a commitment tothe Right to Work principle.
The position is open to baradmitted attorneys as well as graduated law students who have not yet passed the bar.
