Job Description
Job Summary
The Field Technician is responsible for maintaining of baker process equipment as well as troubleshooting equipment problems.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
- Learn the basic operation of the Bakery equipment at the individual Bakeries.
- On call 24 hours 7 days a week.
- Limited overnight travel.
- Adhere to Service schedule set forth for Bakery Equipment without being micro managed.
- Responsible to help in any installation or removal Bakery field equipment as needed.
- Complete daily and weekly paperwork on time.
- Basic understanding of Electrical schematics.
- Work in a safe and professional manner.
- Ability to discuss equipment and work with the customers in a professional manner.
- Responsible for troubleshooting Bakery Equipment problems.
- Aware of have received training and is responsible for maintaining Darlings Food Safety program.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Good math skills.
- Good hands on working ability and skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics.
- Good communicator to help diagnose problems and relay potential problems.
- Basic welding skills.
- Good driving record.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma required; advanced education preferred.
Physical Demands
- Commonly required to life in excess of 50 lbs.
- Frequently twists tug pull and stretch.
- Constant travel required; flying and driving to the jobsites.
- Frequently walk sit climb reach bend kneel crouch and stoop.
- Ability to climb stairs and handle heights.
- Work in tight spaces.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out indoor and outside a bakery plant environment and/or in personal vehicle as required. Temperature will fluctuate depending on outside conditions.
