Job Summary:
The Gift Shop Manager oversees the daily operations of the resorts boutique retail store which features a curated selection of Gurneysbranded merchandise and luxury thirdparty brands. This position is responsible for driving sales managing inventory leading the retail team and ensuring an exceptional guest shopping experience in line with Gurneys brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all retail operations including staffing merchandising and visual presentation.
- Select and maintain a wellcurated assortment of resort wear accessories wellness products and exclusive Gurneys merchandise.
- Develop and maintain relationships with premium vendors and brand partners.
- Train schedule and manage retail associates providing clear sales goals and coaching to achieve them.
- Oversee all aspects of inventory control ordering and loss prevention.
- Analyze sales trends and guest feedback to inform purchasing and pricing decisions.
- Ensure all displays are visually appealing and updated regularly to reflect seasonal and promotional changes.
- Maintain accurate financial records and provide regular sales reporting to leadership.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on promotions events and crossdepartmental initiatives.
- Provide outstanding guest service resolving any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of retail management experience preferably in a luxury or resort environment.
- Strong knowledge of merchandising buying and inventory systems.
- Experience with pointofsale systems; Micros knowledge a plus.
- Excellent leadership communication and guest service skills.
- Highly organized detailoriented and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
- Passion for hospitality fashion and delivering memorable guest experiences.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time including during entire shifts.
- Ability to lift carry and move merchandise and boxes up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent bending reaching and repetitive hand motions required to stock shelves and manage displays.
- Must be able to navigate a multilevel retail space including stairs if applicable.
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment with varying levels of foot traffic.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Fulltime seasonal position.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Salary range: $70000$75000 annually commission
- Housing assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
