Position Objective:

The Facilities Services Worker is responsible for assisting MHA in its ministry goals by keeping the physical facilities clean attractive and functional to ensure guest safety and satisfaction in a manner consistent with MHAs mission vision and values.

General Qualifications:

The Facilities Service Worker is a Ministerial Support position. Ministerial Support staff serve in operational and service support roles and are not required to personally affirm Mount Hermon Association Inc.s (MHA) Christian mission vision and beliefs. However it is expected that staff who fill these roles no matter their personal beliefs respect work in harmony with and not undermine MHAs Christian mission vision and beliefs. Additionally they are required to abide by MHAs culture code and standards of conduct. All staff are expected to join gatherings which includes prayer worship and Bible centeredteaching.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Assist in preparation of facilities for camps and conferences to serve the needs of our campers and guest groups.
• Clean facilities during events and camps and assist in fulfilling guests needs concerning the facility and accommodations in order to offer a comfortable and enjoyable environment.
• Assist with periodic maintenance tasks which may include carpet cleaning window washing pressurewashing walkways hauling debris to dump stocking fire wood etc. to keep the facilities looking their best on an ongoing basis.
• Report all maintenance and repair needs in writing to supervisor to ensure necessary repairs will be completed in a timely manner.
• Follow all safety guidelines set forth by MHA as well as equipment and supply manufacturers to maintain a safe work environment.
• Report all safety hazards or unsafe practices to supervisor or appropriate department head to ensure the prevention of accidents and to preserve each individuals health and safety.
• Properly maintain all assigned tools equipment and vehicles to ensure they are available when needed.
• Other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• May occasionally direct a moderately skilled seasonal employee or volunteer as assigned by Supervisor

Education:

• High school graduate.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of custodial experience.
• Basic mechanical experience and ability.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Must be observant have an eye for detail and not be hindered repetition of the work.
• Ability to establish priorities work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision.
• Should work well with others or alone and be able to receive and follow directions through to completion.
• Ability to relate well with staff and guests is required.
• Must have sufficient written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with staff and guests.
• Ability to operate large vehicles and stick shift.

Physical Demands:

• The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold wet/humid and dry/arid conditions.
• Position requires walking and climbing up/down stairs and ladders. Additional requirements include sitting standing squatting stooping twisting pushing and pulling.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. is required.

Additional Requirements/Skills:

• Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Must agree to and comply with MHAs employee driving guidelines for MHAowned vehicles and use of personal vehicles for business purposes.
• Ability to produce documentation of a current and valid drivers license and a clean DMV record.
• Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in Mount Hermons Mission Vision Values and Commitment statements.
• Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
• Satisfactory completion of background investigation or valid work permit as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
