Relief Resident Monitor Temporary Housing Programs

Position Summary:

The Resident Monitor reports directly to the Resident Monitor Manager the Lead Resident Monitor Shift Supervisor the Associate Program Director or the Director Housing Programs within their respective program as assigned.


The salary range for this position is $17.50 $18.00 per hour and the offer amount is determined by the candidates education qualifications and experience. Indeed provides their own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COHs offer range.


Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:

  • At least hourly monitors community areas within building including lobby phone room and area outside the building to prevent loitering and makes rounds throughout the building. Monitors security cameras for activity in and around the building; addresses issues as needed.
  • Ensures that visitors volunteers outside agency representatives and residents are signed in and out when arriving and leaving and documents in shift log when staff arrive and leave while working in all roles (RM Shift Supervisor Front Desk etc. Checks for photo ID of all visitors. Provides traffic control to limit crowing in the lobby.
  • Completes curfew check each night by knocking on unit doors and documenting who is in the unit. If children are not present Resident Monitors will inquire as to their whereabouts and document that information. (Triumph only)
  • Emails and or calls Program Director and/or Case Manager as appropriate regarding outside agency visits (Police CFSA Social Services probation and parole case workers etc..
  • Fills out incident reports to document unusual and difficult incidents involving resident or facility issues fire rescue and other emergencies as soon as the incident has been controlled and emails incident report to Program Director or OnCall Supervisor immediately.
  • Offers additional assistance to residents as needed or requested by the resident or staff on behalf of the resident in accordance to the Americans with Disabilities Act regulations. Assistance must be offered at all times and during emergencies.
  • Ensures that key/access cards are stored securely at the front desk. Missing or damaged cards must be reported immediately to the Program Director.
  • Monitors the Closed Circuit TV security footage and report and respond immediately to all suspected or apparent security violations by notifying SPO and Program Director and/or calling emergency services.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED Required;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Punctuality and reliability required;
  • Ability to utilize computer software such as Microsoft Windows Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Google Mail;
  • Ability to act responsibly professionally and use good judgment under pressure required;
  • Ability to write shift and incident reports in detail required;
  • Experience working in a residential environment preferred;
  • Ability to deice the front walkway by salting and shoveling the front area when inclement weather occurs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as designated by their supervisor including evenings and weekends and at various Community of Sites required.
  • In relation to remote work versus onsite expectations this position is classified as the following: Onsite: A majority or all of the position is required to work onsite. Please note that remote work designations are subject to change or fluctuate at any point in time and the supervisor may require in person learning for a specific amount of time after hire.

About Us:

Community of Hope is a missiondriven innovative and rapidly growing nonprofit. For 45 years we have provided healthcare housing and community support services to make Washington DC more equitable. As a Federally Qualified Health Center we provide medical dental emotional wellness and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC. Community of Hope also strongly emphasizes maternal and child health with midwifery practice and the only freestanding birth center in DC. In 2024 Community of Hope provided about 50000 medical visits 6300 dental visits and 17000 behavioral health visits for about 16000 patients. Community of Hope is also one of the largest providers of homelessness prevention and housing services for 1600 households1384 families and 220 individualsexperiencing homelessness in DC. Community support through Family Success Center our WIC nutrition centers and perinatal care coordination for pregnant people experiencing homelessness reach hundreds more families.
