Education Center Technology Support and Test Administrator

POSITION OVERVIEW
This position supports the 5th Force Support Squadron in support of the U.S. Air Force onduty and voluntary offduty education programs. You will develop and maintain an excellent working knowledge of the administrative procedures of the various testing programs offered at Minot Air Force Base.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and conduct virtual training courses and video teletraining
- Utilize the Distance Learning Guide or Government Education and Training Network schedule to determine available broadcasts and verify broadcasts identified during annual screening and outofcycle requests.
- Coordinate with the appropriate training provider to obtain a slot on the Aeronautical Telecommunications Network downlink.
- Notify customers when the scheduled downlink is Obtain students names from units and reserve the training room for the scheduled broadcast.
- Ensure the training room is fully operational.
- Monitor the classroom periodically during the broadcast and be available to assist with any technical problems that may
- Troubleshoot any software and hardwarerelated problems.
- Manage the use of the computer laboratory equipment and Aeronautical Telecommunications Network equipment.
- Notify the Contracting Officers Representative of malfunctioning
- Assist the Education and Training Center Section Chief in identifying needed upgrades to distance learning equipment.
- Prepares operating instructions for system equipment and Education and Training Center computer programs including Virtual Training Courses and Video TeleTraining Courses to provide written instructions for control setups emergency shutdown procedures and procedures for rebooting the system when unanticipated machine errors
- Provide hardware and software system administration on classroom computers servers scanners satellite receivers switches routers printers projectors and other peripherals critical to the proper function of Minot Air Force Bases Base Education and Training Center technology systems.
- Manage all aspects of commercial and government computers network services and systems operating in the Education Center and establish timelines for all maintenance
- Manage the Education and Training Center classroom operating systems including software upgrades data separation equipment maintenance equipment modifications replacements etc.
- Set up new computers and other information systems promptly to support improving the Education and Training Center including classrooms and testing centers.
- Implement any new software and hardware systems as needed
- Provide all networking architecture recommendations and networking support to improve Education and Training Center network as directed by the Education and Training Center Section Chief.
- Serve as the Education and Training Center system administrator and liaison for the Domain Name Server host address local area network connectivity and education and academic support.
- Respond to all communications and inquiries by the end of the next duty
- Provide proper information security on all systems. Establish procedures for safeguarding all critical data.
- Educate personnel on proper security procedures to protect sensitive data and
- Monitor the operation of automated programs provide onthejob automation training for staff and respond to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors.
- Design backup methodology to guarantee uninterrupted Base Education service to customers including testing.
- Develop a tracking system including all required documentation to monitor all information systems. Establish a diagram of the facility with an associated database to track fixes and implementation of information systems.
- Provide for safe migration of essential data from one system to another. Guides the continuing integration of information technology into operations and services.
- Provide recommendations to Education and Training Center Section Chief for future planning and improvements to existing information systems and structure.
- Research and provide recommendations for purchasing all information systems and components required to improve the existing structure.
- Establish and use an account in GSA Advantage 2GIT Air Force Advantage or any other technology research or purchasing requirement system required to fulfill this
- Serve as the IT Asset Management custodian for the Education and Training Center following 5th Communications Squadron procedures for managing IT assets.
- Conduct annual and periodic inventories of computer equipment and
- Monitor computerrelated supplies and notify the Education and Training Center Section Chief when replacements are required.
- Notify the Contracting Officers Representative and Education and Training Section Chief of any missing equipment.
- Coordinate the disposal of obsolete inventory through the 5th Communication Squadron and Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services
- Perform any other critical system support as requested by the Contracting Officers Representative for the successful operation of the Education and Training Center
- Administer tests using specific guidance from the Test Control Officers established directives instructions and testing procedures.
- Conduct behavior so that there is no externally imposed stress on the exam participants and ensure that the test environment is distractionfree.
- Maintain continuing contact with the Education and Training Center staff to ensure a high degree of professional understanding cooperation and liaison support to the sections mission.
- Safeguard tests and examinations following applicable directives and
- Ensure no compromise loss or theft of test materials.
- Be familiar with the most current instructions for testing including specific instructions provided across various test types as made available to the Education and Training Center by the distributing agency.
- Handle all examinations and computer media in a manner to safeguard their Upon completion of the test administration follow secure examination procedures.
- Provide a score sheet to the members and the Base Training Manager upon completing computerbased testing.
- Before admitting anyone into the testing location ensure that each participant provides appropriate official identification.
- Every test administered must be entered into the test log and signed by the test
- Before exam participants begin a test the participant must be advised of the testing procedures using the specific instructions for that test.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher in an IT field or at least 3 years of IT
- Knowledge of computer operating systems programming languages and client and server networking environments
- Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite and various browsers
- Proven experience in installing and operating multimedia software using standalone or networked computers.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting software hardware and cabling problems
- United States Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA Network or Security certifications
- Experience with the United States Air Force or Department of Defense
