LongTerm Substitute School NutritionCook
Approximately 46 month assignment

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Follows recipes portion controls and presentation specifics.
- Prepares food items by cutting chopping mixing and preparing ready to eat food.
- Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Monitor delivery storage inventory and security of all food and supplies during shift. Check vendor deliveries for quality and accuracy of quantities received.
- Maintain the cleanliness sanitation and organization of the kitchen and kitchen equipment during shift.
- Completes daily food temperature logs.
- Oversees preparation packaging and distribution of school meals.
- Maintains food preparation and dining areas at ratings exceeding state standards.
- Maintains food service areas equipment and furnishings in neat clean and appealing condition.
- Achieves high levels of customer satisfaction through student participation rates and by student and adult ratings.
- Promptly reports major repairs needed to the School Nutrition Director.
- Immediately reports any damage to school property to the School Nutrition Director.
- Keeps an inventory of food supplies and equipment on hand and makes requisitions to the School Nutrition Director far enough in advance to sustain a smoothrunning and continuous food service program.
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of and ability to implement County Health regulations and MDE School Nutrition Policies/Procedures relative to their work assignments.
- Keep current with state and facility required annual training.
- Assumes other responsibilities assigned by the School Nutrition Director or Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid ServSafe Certification.
- At least 2 years of cooking experience.
- Food service experience in an educational setting.
- Ability to read follow directions and maintain records.
- Ability to work effectively with school personnel and students in a diverse school community.
- Solid record of punctuality.
