The City of Edmonton is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Economic Investment Services team as a Coordinator Downtown Economy.

What will you do
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement the Downtown Action Plan and support the growth of downtown businesses
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations businesses and other stakeholders
- Prepare reports briefings and presentations for various audiences including City Council and the Executive Leadership Team
- Conduct research and analysis to identify trends best practices and opportunities for downtown revitalization
- Oversee funding opportunities related to the Downtown Action Plan ensuring equitable and fair distribution of funds
- Develop and implement strategies to address challenges and promote a vibrant and safe downtown
- Contribute to the development of policies and initiatives that support downtown businesses and economic growth
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of downtown revitalization programs and initiatives
- Identify and secure funding opportunities to support downtown revitalization projects
- Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the Economic Investment Services team and across the corporation
- University degree in business administration public administration economics or a related field
- A minimum of five years of experience in a combination of economic development business support project management and stakeholder engagement
Assets:
- Additional training in strategic management public administration government relations project management and/or change management
- Experience coordinating large politically sensitive and complex projects and initiatives in a large public or private sector environment

- A strategic thinker able to anticipate business opportunities and recommend enterprisewide policy planning and initiatives
- Advanced skills knowledge and understanding of business government strategic thinking financial management change management and project management
- Ability to think strategically to address large complex issues to manage emergent projects while steering dynamically
- Ability to create leverage and maintain relationships necessary to advance the Downtown Action Plan including those with the public business partners industry partners and stakeholders
- A systems thinker with awareness of how decisions on one project initiative and/or strategy may have a direct impact on others
- Excellent negotiation problemsolving and conflict management/resolution skills
- Ability to anticipate assess and readily adapt to changing priorities maintain resilience in times of uncertainty and effectively work in a changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results in the context of a respectful inclusive and serviceminded style

Work Environment:
- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance
