Summary
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Software Engineer to join Mycronics Global Technologies division working within our Photonic Interconnects business line (Vanguard Automation). From our headquarters in Karlsruhe Germany Vanguard Automation has set out to revolutionize photonics packaging and integration. We offer machines and processes for automated multichip assembly by leveraging 3D nanoprint technology. Our portfolio covers the entire range from smallscale prototyping to fully automated solutions for manufacturing. Built upon an internationally unique technology and IP portfolio as well as nearly two decades of experience in industrial automation through our partner companies our growing customer base is inherently global. At the core our team at Vanguard Automation comprises experts in photonics material science highprecision optomechanics software development and automation engineering
The Industrial Software Engineer will be responsible for creating highly differentiated solutions for photonic integration and packaging. This position will collaborate closely with a crossdisciplinary researchanddevelopment team. This role focuses on conceptualizing architecting and implementing software for processes devices and systems used in 3D nano print applications. This exciting career opportunity provides involvement in all phases of the software life cycle. Your development activity will touch the whole system software including hardware control image processing and user interface.
Key Responsibilities
- Prototypes designs develops & maintains device and system automation software in C# and python
- Collaborates with the researchanddevelopment and industrial engineering teams on new product ideas process improvements and customerspecific software solutions
- Continuously improves the development and deployment process
- Designs and implements Unit and Integration tests
- Provides transparent documentation and version tracking
- Participates in time estimation and capacity planning
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor Master or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering Physics Computer Science or comparable qualification
- At least 3 years of work experience in industrial and devicerelated software development ideally using C# and python
- Experience with source control and CI/CD
- Solid English written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to balance collaborative and independent work in an interdisciplinary environment
- Experience with image processing using HALCON or other Image Processing Libraries is preferred
- Selfmotivated highly proactive strong curiosity and desire to learn
- High sense of ownership and accountability
- Strong interpersonal skills and sense of humility
- Constructive and pragmatic problem solving
- Experience with agile project management will be a plus
- Occasional remote work is possible
