Principal SQA Engineer SDWAN Solution - NetSec

Your Career 

Palo Alto Networks SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished Principal SQA engineer with experience in validating core networking security features & solution testing in the SDWAN team. You will be part of a worldclass software engineering team that works on various groundbreaking technologies in the SDWAN area. You will work with a multifunctional team of engineers solving interesting problems.

We expect officebased employees to be in the office four days per week with one day working from where they choose. We believe being together facilitates casual conversations and those magic moments where we can work on issues and ideas informally. These moments build capability and deepen trusted relationships and allow our people to feel safe in taking risks and being disruptive. Like so many companies we are working through the details and things could change but in general if a role is deemed officebased we want our teams to be together four days per week. 

Your Impact

• Work in a small and fastpaced team to solve important customer problems and deliver the most impactful results
• Contribute to all phases of endtoend product and solution validation
• Works closely with PM TME and Customer support teams to understand the customer use cases 
• Work with different development and quality assurance groups to achieve the best quality
• Suggest and implement improvements to the QA process 
• Work with DevOps and the Technical Support teams to troubleshoot customer issues
• Lead technical discussions mentor junior team members and support customer deployments as needed.

Qualifications :

Your Experience 

• 10 years of relevant experience with a BS or MS degree
• Expertise with standard TCP/IP protocols such as ARP IP ICMP TCP UDP & IPSec VPNs
• Expertise in testing of  Layer 2/3 networking routing protocols such as BGP OSPF & EIGRP MPLS IPSec QoS NAT and policies etc.
• Expertise in networking features like Multicast IPv6 DNS NAT & DHCP
• Expertise in System Solution Scale Performance interoperability and failover testing of SDWAN solutions 
• Own the test strategy architecture and plans for enterprisescale SDWAN solutions.
• Be able to build and maintain complex networking testbeds
• Expertise with performance characterization of networking products
• Expertise in test orchestration control plane data plane and security features of SDWAN platforms
• Proficient in using traffic generators (Ixia Spirent) protocol analyzers (Wireshark) and monitoring tools
• Expertise with Automation/Programming using Python and REST APIs
• Design and implement test frameworks environments and automation for systemlevel validation.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi qemu/kvm and Microsoft HyperV
• Excellent problemsolving debugging/troubleshooting skills and a customerfocused mindset
