Job Description
Responsibility:
Senior technical resource as technical advisor for geotechnical practice.
Analyze complex technical issues and guide solutions to challenging issues within their function business unit and/or technical discipline.
Oversee geotechnical design and construction including inspection of the construction of geotechnical features like retaining walls ground improvement foundations roadways bridges airports ports/marine structures slopes and tunnels.
QA-QC geotechnical work plans geotechnical reports geotechnical engineering related submittals etc. QA-QC design plans and specifications and for compliance with geotechnical recommendations and communicate with multiple disciplines and provide design improvement recommendations.
Review and respond to construction submittals and RFIs.
Lead proposal efforts for geotechnical engineering services.
Meet with clients to support business development.
Mentor and support technical development of Project Engineers. Geotechnical principal in charge for geotechnical projects or geotechnical component of multi-discipline projects responsible for scope schedule and budget. Geotechnical SME for transportation projects.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelors degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering and 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid drivers license required.
California PE license.
Preferred Qualification:
Strong transportation experience related to highway/bridge/airport/port projects.
California GE license. Local (Southern California) project and BD experience.
25 years of related experience in geotechnical engineering projects.
Solid understanding of performing and managing geotechnical related projects.
Ability to manage projects within budget scope & schedule as well as effectively managing engineering staff.
The ability to work well with multiple engineering disciplines.
