Job Description
Are you looking to make an immediate impact by helping our clients architect hybrid cloud solutions migrate workloads and implement enterprise backup and disaster recovery strategies
Deloittes Core Business Operations (CBO) portfolio operates at the centre of our clients IT transformation. By joining our team you will help Csuite executives and programme leaders transform their organisations through emerging hybrid cloud technologies IT resilience strategies and workload migration frameworks.
Deloittes Cloud Engineering team consists of technical thought leaders and cloud architects who design hybrid cloud workload migration and disaster recovery solutions for enterprises. Our Cloud team is at the heart of technical solutioning and leads the modernisation of enterprise IT infrastructures.
Work youll do
As a Backup & Recovery Architect and Technical Sales Advisor you will lead the design and implementation of enterprise backup and recovery solutions across hybrid environments. You will work closely with clients to assess currentstate capabilities define targetstate architectures and transition backup services into modern policydriven platforms.
You will develop disaster recovery strategies aligned to RTO/RPO requirements regulatory compliance and cyber resilience principles. Your responsibilities will include conducting technology assessments building technical runbooks supporting DR test planning and ensuring operational readiness.
In addition to delivery you will support technical sales initiatives by contributing to proposals RFx responses and client engagements. Your trusted advisor role will involve working with presales teams and service delivery leads to provide insight into backup trends vendor capabilities and service integration approaches
Proposals Business Development & Technical Sales Support:
- Assist in proposal development and RFx responses for backup recovery and disaster recovery solutions.
- Conduct technical assessments client workshops and solutioning sessions to align client requirements with leading practices.
- Identify business opportunities network at industry events and support business development strategies for resilience offerings.
- Provide technical leadership during steering committee meetings and architecture discussions.
- Develop and present PoCs and solution blueprints that demonstrate backup maturity automation and recovery capabilities.
- Collaborate with vendors partners and internal teams to stay up to date on technology roadmaps regulatory trends and market needs.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related technical field.
- 7 years of experience in infrastructure backup or disaster recovery architecture roles.
- 35 years in clientfacing and technical sales roles supporting business continuity or resilience programmes.
- Professionallevel certification in backup cloud or storage platforms (e.g. Veeam Commvault NetBackup AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional).
- Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Handson experience in hybrid backup operations and DR simulations in enterprise environments.
Technical Requirements:
- Enterprise Backup Architecture Strong understanding of data protection platforms such as Commvault Veeam NetBackup etc.
- Disaster Recovery Planning Experience defining DR strategies and building recovery runbooks aligned to business continuity goals.
- Hybrid Recovery Design Ability to design backup and recovery for workloads spanning onpremises private cloud and public cloud environments.
- Compliance & Retention Knowledge of data protection regulations including ISO 27001 POPIA GDPR and related retention policy design.
- Monitoring & Reporting Experience implementing backup monitoring job tracking alerting and reporting solutions.
- Technical Sales & Client Engagement Experience supporting presales teams client workshops and proposal development.
