Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of data solutions and their functionalities but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks. As a Junior Data Engineer you will develop and maintain data solutions (ETL warehouses lakehouses etc) for corporate systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Data pipelines: Design create and manage the processes that move data from various sources to a destination like a database data warehouse or analytics platform.
- Data warehouses: Optimize data warehouses to enable fast data retrieval and queries.
- Data security: Ensure systems comply with data security legislation and policies.
- ETL: Implement ETL packages to copy and transform data.
- Algorithms and prototypes: Build algorithms and prototypes.
- Data acquisition: Identify opportunities for data acquisition.
- Analytical tools: Develop analytical tools and data science solutions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the business intelligence team and other IT and business stakeholders.
- We work a flexible schedule including support on some Colombian holidays with US holidays off.
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
- Professional level English fluency
- Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field.
- 23 years of experience as a data engineer or a similar role.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g. SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL).
- Experience with data manipulation using Python.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Thriving in a fastpaced highvolume environment.
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
