Job Summary
ThePCD Brazing Technicianwill be responsible for preparing assembling and brazing PCD inserts into tool bodies usinginduction brazingtechniques. This role requires strong attention to detail adherence to quality and safety standards and the ability to work efficiently with specialized tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and Setup
- Analyze and interprettechnical drawings sketches and diagramsrelated to tool brazing.
- Select and preparePCD inserts carbide or steel tool bodiesfor the brazing process.
- Ensure properalignment and positioningof PCD bits before brazing.
- Brazing and Bonding
- Performinduction brazingto join PCD inserts to tool bodies ensuringstrong and precise bonding.
- Use appropriatefluxes filler materials and heating methodsfor different tool applications.
- Maintainconsistent heat controlto avoid thermal damage to materials.
- Conductcleaning oxidation removal and degreasingof tools before and after brazing.
- Quality Control and Inspection
- Inspect brazed tools forbond strength alignment and quality compliance.
- Usemeasurement and control instrumentsto verify precision.
- Follow industrystandards codes and safety regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance and Process Improvement
- Maintain and troubleshootbrazing equipment tools and workstations.
- Participate incontinuous improvement initiativesfor process efficiency.
- Follow workplacesafety hygiene and environmental protectionguidelines.
Position Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
- Experience in brazing welding or similar metaljoining techniques(induction brazing experience preferred).
- Knowledge ofPCD tooling carbide and metal bonding technologies.
- Ability tointerpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity withmeasurement tools (calipers micrometers etc..
- Prior experience inprecision manufacturing or tool fabricationis a plus.
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma 12th grade) or equivalentrequired.
- Technical certification in welding brazing or machiningpreferred.
