Job Purpose:
The Third Ward Revitalization Coordinator will play a critical role in improving University Citys third ward by supposing the development and implementation of a housing program and other communitybased programs projects and initiatives described in the For the 3rd Ward plan. Working with multiple city departments nonprofit organizations and state and federal agencies this position will focus on addressing complex issues such as housing and neighborhood revitalization. This position will engage with citizens community groups and other stakeholders to ensure the continued growth and prosperity for the third ward through effective placemaking initiatives and neighborhood development efforts.
This position reports to the Economic Development Manager.

- Coordinate and assist with the implementation of the For the 3rd Ward Plan including the creation and implementation of housing programs for the third ward and neighborhood revitalization efforts
- Research develop and manage housingrelated programs and projects in the third ward
- Monitors housing programs practices projects properties and agreements
- Collaborate with other city departments nonprofit organizations and state and federal agencies to address housing and neighborhood challenges ensuring alignment with the For the 3rd Ward Plan and city goals
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal funding programs such as CDBG HOME and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program
- Support neighborhood services helping to create and promote initiatives that enhance the overall quality of life for third ward residents
- Collaborate with citizens and community groups on placemaking initiatives that contribute to the revitalization and development of the third ward neighborhoods
- Monitor the progress of neighborhood development projects ensuring that timelines budgets and goals are met and making recommendations for improvements when necessary
- Collect and track residential permit activity and trends in the third ward; prepare reports conveying housing trends and needs
- Prepares and reviews statistical and analytical reports of program activities operations and procedures; gathers and compiles data for reports
- Prepares and submits updates and reports to the City Manager and City Council as assigned
- Research potential grants and prepares grant submissions
- Performs other related work and duties as assigned

- Considerable knowledge of the principles practices and techniques of economic development housing development marketing and financing methods; including considerable knowledge of administrative principles and practices
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of community development and neighborhood improvement programs

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Urban/Regional Planning Public Administration or a related filed with three years planning code housing activities or any combination of education and experience that provide equivalent knowledge skills and abilities will be considered
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Current & valid drivers license
- Experience working with public under emotionally trying circumstances
Overall Physical Strength Demands:
This position is split with about 50 office and 50 out in the field.
Travel between locations is required.
