Administration Services Coordinator
Contract: 6Months FullTime Contract
Pay Rate: $26.00/hr
Bargaining Unit position: Band 1A
ABOUT THE STOP:
The Stop Community Food Centres mission is to increase access to healthy food in a manner that maintains dignity builds community and challenges inequality. From its origins 40 years ago as one of Canadas first food banks The Stop has since grown into a vibrant community centre that uses food as a gateway to addressing many issues including poverty the environment social isolation and health in one of Torontos lowestincome neighbourhoods. The Stop is accredited by Imagine Canada for excellence in nonprofit accountability transparency and governance.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for a candidate to provide administrative support to The Stop Community Food Centre and assist the Administrative Coordinator with administrative tasks. This position will report to the Director Finance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Administrative Coordinator with various administrative tasks among our three locations as needed such as but not limit to filing photocopying mailing ordering office and cleaning supplies distributing TTC tickets etc.
- Provide information on The Stop programs to community members
- Answer the door and the phone and responding to emails in the general Stop inbox
- Provide assistance to staff by troubleshooting computers and office equipment (e.g. photocopier fax telephones etc.
- Manage detailed calendars in Outlook coordinating virtual meetings and inperson as necessary.
- Support The Stops program teams with special projects and tasks as assigned.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees including organizing welcome packages equipment requests maintaining office access etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- As a first point of contact for community members this positions requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well the following skills:
- Experience in reception or administration
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player while able to work independently.
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite Internet etc.
- Ability to problemsolve and troubleshoot
- Ability to prioritise and manage different tasks at once
- Ability to work respectfully with marginalised and culturally diverse community members. Understand and practice antiracist and antioppression approach in all aspects of work including interactions with participants community members coworkers stakeholders and others.
- Ability to speak a second language is an asset
- Patience creativity and a great sense of humour!
