Early Help Professional Development Facilitator

Location: Preston based with travel required across Lancashire

Salary Range:per annum

Team: Early Help Service

Reports to: Early Help Workforce Learning and Development Officer

Children and Family Wellbeing Service (CFW) is part of Lancashire County Councils Education and Childrens Services. It offers early help and support to children young people aged 019yrs 25yrs for young people with special educational needs and disabilities) and their families across Lancashire.

The service is committed to minimising the impact of any disadvantage for Lancashire children by working with them their families and communities as early as possible enabling them to get the right support in the right way at the right time.

The service responds as early as possible when a child young person or family needs support and this helps to prevent concerns escalating. By working together with the child and family we can provide an enhanced level of practical support to address needs directly. Sometimes our workers meet with individuals or families on a onetoone basis and sometimes they bring children young people and families together in groups. We focus on strengths and protective factors and build a positive relationship with children and family members where their voice is heard and they feel listened to.

Our core aim is to work better together with our multiagency early help partners across all areas in Lancashire to ensure that Children young people and their families are safe healthy and achieve their full potential. Early Help is fundamental to achieving this vision.

The Role:

The Early Help Workforce Learning and Development team part of Lancashire County Councils Children and Family Wellbeing Service is looking to recruit a permanent fulltime 37 hour Early Help Professional Development Facilitator. In this role you will deliver development activities and training that underpin the continuous professional development of lead practitioners across the Early Help Multiagency sector. Your efforts will ensure that practitioners are wellequipped to support children young people and their families effectively.

This position will be based at County Hall but you will be required to travel to various training venues across Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate engaging and interactive professional development activities for early help professionals.
  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of learning programmes tailored to the needs of early help practitioners.
  • Conduct regular evaluations to identify professional development needs and utilise participant feedback.
  • Develop and promote professional development materials.
  • Provide learning support and guidance to help practitioners apply new skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in task groups to review and design service policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of professional development activities and outcomes.
  • Support service managers and frontline staff in using and interpreting key data sets.
  • Undertake activities requiring technical and analytical support in nominated thematic areas.
  • Communicate with other agencies and service providers to ensure joinedup service provision.
  • Suggest improvements to current working methods to enhance service delivery.
  • Support and promote the corporate activities and values of the Council.
