The Materials Manager approves more technical waste streams entering the facility reviews materials for processing and assigns all outbound profiles for the facility either directly or through Central Profile Group.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
o Reviews profiles submitted by sales/customer service to ensure accuracy and completeness
o Provides regulatory review of EPA DOT and State designations
o Ensures waste material is acceptable within limitations of Part B permit and if not acceptable actively seeks alternative options for treatment
o Obtains approved outbound profile(s) to ultimate disposal site(s)
o Evaluates waste stream(s) (profile) for most costeffective treatment option or treatment option requested by customer
o Actively pursues recycle (green options) for traditional streams
o Assesses best method of handling delivered waste taking all treatment labor material equipment and transportation costs into consideration.
o Determines final assignment of process code directly or thru supervision of lab personnel
o Maintains location transportation and disposal costing file
o Ensures accurate and complete disposal logs
o Attends and actively participates in all Sales meetings
o Nurtures working relationship between sales and operations
o Actively pursues and evaluates new treatment facilities and technologies for potential cost reduction(s) and sustainability
o Assists in training both technicians and lab personnel on price points and process codes.
o Works with laboratory to convey analytical changes and helps assure samples are moving through the lab in the allotted time
o Routinely audits shipments for routing compliance and load optimization
o Verify and compare actual transportation and disposal costs to transportation and disposal costs in standard cost model monthly
o Participate in National Regional and Local bids by assisting with the coding and costing of bids and presenting winning strategies
o Works with shipping department to schedule and optimize outbound loads
o Works with Central Profile Group to approve and route waste in operating system
o Works with FPA and operations
Qualifications :
Qualifications
Required:
o Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and/or Biology with a Chemistry focus
o Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
o Strong attention to detail
o EPA DOT and state regulations
Preferred:
o 24 years Materials Management or Approvals Management experience at a Treatment Storage Disposal Facility
o Operating permits and Waste Analysis Plans
o Costing basics
o Microsoft Excel
