Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company
The Manager of Risk Model Governance plays a critical role in business enablement and financial risk management across BILL. Reporting to the Senior Director of Risk Data Science and Innovation this role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework specifically tailored to the teams unique risks and challenges in the financial technology industry. Your expertise in risk will play a critical role in safeguarding BILLs assets and reputation and ensuring the secure and reliable operation of our global payments platform. Join our team and shape the risk management strategy that will drive BILLs continued success as a leader in the digital payments industry.
- Develop and maintain the Model Risk Management (MRM) framework to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry best practices.
- Conduct model validation and independent testing for credit risk fraud detection underwriting and other financial models.
- Assess model inputs assumptions methodologies and performance to identify potential risks and biases.
- Establish model documentation standards and ensure consistency across different teams.
- Monitor model performance metrics and work with model owners to implement necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with data scientists risk teams and compliance teams to enhance model governance and transparency.
- Stay updated on evolving regulatory guidelines including SR 117 OCC 201112 and other FinTechspecific risk standards.
- Communicate model risk findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Support audits and regulatory examinations related to model risk management.
Wed love to chat if you have:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative field such as Finance Mathematics Statistics Data Science or related disciplines.
- 5 years of experience in model risk management model validation or quantitative risk analysis in fintech banking or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning models credit risk models and fraud detection algorithms.
- Handson experience with statistical tools and programming languages such as Python R SAS SQL.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines related to model risk such as SR 117 OCC guidelines and Basel regulations.
- Experience in working with large datasets and cloudbased environments (AWS GCP or Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced fintech environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The estimated salary range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience expertise and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above.
