Job Description

We are currently seeking a Windows Enterprise Domain Administrator for a remote role in the MD/DC Metro area. The administrator must live locally in order to attend meetings onsite.
This role is responsible for the design implementation management and security of complex multidomain Windows environments with a focus on Active Directory (AD) and Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure. This position is critical to ensuring the security reliability and performance of enterprise IT infrastructure supporting national security missions.
Responsibilities
- Architect deploy and maintain multidomain Windows enterprise environments ensuring high availability security and compliance with organizational and DoD standards.
- Manage and optimize complex Active Directory forests domains trusts and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) including advanced troubleshooting and migration activities.
- Oversee and configure enterprise DNS infrastructure including integration with AD and external DNS systems ensuring secure and reliable name resolution across domains.
- Implement and enforce security best practices including patch management access controls and monitoring for compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community requirements.
- Perform regular system audits vulnerability assessments and remediation of security threats in accordance with IAT Level 2 and DoD 8570 requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior administrators and support staff.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support missioncritical applications and services.
- Prepare and present technical documentation reports and briefings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Participate in incident response disaster recovery planning and of business continuity strategies.
Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- Possess or be able to obtain at least a DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g. CompTIA Security SSCP CCNA Security CySA GICSP or GSEC).
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of handson experience managing largescale multidomain Windows enterprise environments with complex AD and DNS requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server OS Active Directory DNS DHCP and Group Policy management.
- Experience with AD integrated DNS zones trust relationships and secure dynamic updates.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. PowerShell) for system administration tasks.
- Strong understanding of network protocols security controls and compliance frameworks relevant to DoD/IC environments.
- Preferred: Prior experience supporting DoD Intelligence Community or other federal government environments.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to brief technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in highsecurity missiondriven environments.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cybersecurity and enterprise IT best practices.
