Technical Support Intern Chelsea MA
The MWRA MIS Department is seeking a Desktop Technical Support Intern to work on the Authorities Desktop Laptop and Mobile devices. As part of a team the Intern will provide software and hardware upgrades and support on end user equipment. This will include applying Security OS patches application updates and inventory record controls on equipment being serviced. Works under the supervision of the Program Manager MIS Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in the Laptop Validation Project.
- Configures tests and installs microcomputer hardware software and peripheral products for the MWRA.
- Investigates diagnoses tests and resolves a wide variety of microcomputer hardware peripheral device and software problems reported by users through the Helpline or other sources.
- Participates on microcomputer hardware software or peripheral device project teams to assist MWRA users with introduction to new or modified microcomputer environments.
- Utilizes the MWRA tracking system Maximo for workorders and inventory updates
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Information Technology or Computer Science major
- Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Products
- Understanding of security and OS patching
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication skills required

- Work Schedule: Monday Friday 7:00 am 3:00 pm
- Time Frame: May September
