Description
Hire Resolves client is seeking a Head of Social who will drive the endtoend social media strategy planning and performance for two different sporting clubs across all channels. This pivotal role builds brand relevance grows engaged fanbases and leads sports and culture conversations. Crucially this role champions the Players First strategy using content and storytelling to elevate marquee and emerging players thereby expanding the clubs brand reach.

Key Responsibilities:
- Social Strategy and Planning: Lead multichannel social strategy setting ambitious growth and engagement targets. Translate club goals into actionable content plans and structured calendars balancing storytelling matchday commercial needs and fan engagement.
- Players First Strategy: Design and deliver a social framework to build player profiles as content creators aligned with club brand goals. Collaborate on authentic content elevating player voice cocreate with talent and build strong player relationships. Track and grow player social metrics for club brand expansion.
- Content and Campaign : Oversee daily publishing (matchday training lifestyle UGC reactive). Collaborate with creative teams on platformtailored innovative formats aligned with club tone. Integrate social into broader marketing and commercial campaigns.
- Community and Culture: Foster fan dialogue and connection through an engaging presence. Stay ahead of trends to engage in wider conversations. Activate stakeholders to expand communityled content.
- Analytics and Performance Reporting: Own performance reporting using insights to refine content and guide decisions. Set benchmarks for key metrics and share reports to inform strategy.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and mentor the social media team. Collaborate across internal teams and represent social in discussions ensuring campaign integration. Contribute to creative and sponsorship pitches.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in related field.
- 5 years leading social media in highgrowth (ideally sport/entertainment/youth culture).
- Proven success with player/talentfirst strategies for engagement and growth.
- Deep platform knowledge (TikTok Instagram YouTube) and creative instincts.
- Experience with live sports content and matchday/training cycles.
- Excellent communication storytelling and editorial judgment.
- Proficiency in social media tools (e.g. Emplifi Sprout Dash Hudson).
- Experience building relationships with athletes/public figures in highpressure settings.
Desirable:
- Experience in professional rugby/highperformance sport.
- Knowledge of player IP/NIL and athletedriven content.
- Creative production skills (shortform video copywriting).
- Understanding of paid social and influencer collaborations.
