Hybrid Workplace Arrangement:

Although this position will be designated under the departments hybrid workplace program it will still be required to report to the department office on a scheduled basis and at the discretion of the supervisor based on business need.

Description of Job

The Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) serves the public interest by effectively regulating utilities and facilities so that the people of Colorado receive safe reliable and reasonablypriced services consistent with the economic environmental and social values of our state.


The Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Gas Pipeline Safety Program is charged with confirming compliance with and enforcing the States intrastate gas pipeline safety regulations to provide public safety to the citizens of Colorado.


Position:SGA 35086

This temporary position supports the Gas Pipeline Safety program procedures by gathering and analyzing data based on defined metrics identify deficiencies and suggest improvements. The position supports the inspection team by helping to prepare inspection records gather necessary documentation and perform preliminary reviews. Additionally the position assists in analyzing inspection findings and drafting compliance action plans.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Aiding in implementing the quality control measures by monitoring the performance metrics to enhance overall program effectiveness and consistency;

  • Recording observations taking photographs and documenting findings accurately to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational procedures;

  • Organizing data from inspections identifying areas needing improvement and collaborating with the team to formulate and document corrective actions and preventative measures to address compliance issues and enhance overall operational standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MQs):


There are two ways to qualify for this position: 1 Experience OR 2 A Combination of Education and Experience


Option 1: Experience


  • Two 2 years of experience performing paraprofessional or technical support work performing at least two 2 of the following:

    • Demonstrated experience reviewing documents for completeness correctness and/or compliance with laws rules policies and procedures;

    • Demonstrated experience providing support to programs by tracking reporting and recording project timelines;

    • Experience working according to detailed policies procedures and deadlines.


Option 2: A Combination of Education AND Experience


  • College or university coursework from an accredited institution in Business Business Administration Engineering Environmental Science Natural Resource Management Public Administration or a field of study related to the work assignment may substitute for the experience on a yearforyear basis (up to one 1 years); AND

  • One 1year of experience performing paraprofessional or technical support work performing at least two 2 of the following:

    • Demonstrated experience reviewing documents for completeness correctness and/or compliance with laws rules policies and procedures;

    • Demonstrated experience providing support to programs by tracking reporting and recording project timelines;

    • Experience working according to detailed policies procedures and deadlines.


  • Associates Degree and Experience:Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associates degree in Business Business Administration Engineering Environmental Science Natural Resource Management Public Administration or a field of study related to the work assignment.


OR


  • College or university coursework from an accredited institution in Business Business Administration Environmental Science Natural Resource Management Public Administration or a field of study related to the work assignment may substitute for the experience on a yearforyear basis (up to two 2 years).

SUBSTITUTIONS:


  • Partial credit toward the degree requirement will be given for completed college/university coursework that did not result in a degree.A masters or doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study related to the work assignment will substitute for the bachelors degree requirement.


* Technical work is skilled work in the practical application of specialized techniques procedures practices or methods in order to accomplish tasks. This work involves amongst other duties assisting an administrator or other professional by applying knowledge of and/or interpreting principles rules regulations policies precedents other guidelines and objectives specific to a program or professional subject area to resolve problems answer questions and provide information and/or advise others on technical program issues or matters.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing databases including entering compiling updating troubleshooting analyzing and tracking data;

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing data analysis and data management software;

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing data to identify program deficiencies and provide suggestions for improvements;

  • Demonstrated experience providing support to programs by tracking reporting and ensuring project timelines are met;

  • Demonstrated experience working on or assisting with compliance projects including tracking compliance activities and metrics and developing reports.

  • Ability to travel independently including work inoffice as required by business need and scheduled by the supervisor.

  • Effective September 20 2021 employees will be required to attest to and verify whether or not they are fully vaccinated for COVID19. Employees who have not been fully vaccinated may be required to submit to serial testing in the future. Upon hire new employees will have three 3 business days to provide attestation to their status with proof of vaccination. Vaccinated employees must provide proof of vaccination.

  • Note: Fully Vaccinated means two 2 weeks after a second dose in a twodose series of the COVID19 vaccine such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two 2 weeks after the singledose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnsons Janssen vaccine as defined by the most recent State of Colorados Public Health Order and current guidance issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
