THE POSITION:
At STACK Americas the Director Electric Utilities is responsible for building and leading STACKs Energy Procurement strategy. The Director partners with utilities energy service providers clients and other internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable low cost renewable energy to a North American portfolio of existing expanding and new market data center assets through negotiating traditional and renewable supply agreements and instruments. All of this occurs in the context of STACKs 100% renewable energy goals which the Director of Energy Procurement will be responsible for refining augmenting and executing. STACK is looking for someone with passion curiosity and experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience negotiating multi-site energy procurement transactions an ability to understand and align stakeholder interests and at least some exposure to alternative energy technology and utility interconnection.
- Lead evaluation diligence contract negotiations and internal recommendations for power procurement for a portfolio of existing data center facilities and facilities under development
- Grow STACKs portfolio-wide energy procurement efforts into an industry leading program along with needed ancillary programming (e.g. tracking and reporting) in a portfolio that includes data center facilities in regulated and deregulated locations
- Partner with STACKs development sustainability and client success teams in delivering energy solutions for clients
- Interface with internal and external partners including finance design and engineering sales marketing legal tax and consultative resources
- Prepare energy procurement and development business cases and recommendations for leadership approval
- Partner with sales team to pitch client-side opportunities
- Maintain strategic relationships with in-region stakeholders
THE DETAILS:
- Location: San Jose California
- Travel: 10-20%
- Compensation: $200000 $240000 annual bonus
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must pass comprehensive background screening
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ten year experience in leadership roles in Power and Utilities
- Comfortable and experiencedat representing business interests to internal and external senior leadership utility partners government officials and other stakeholdersin a fast-paced growth-oriented environment
- Strong analytical creative thinkingand communications skills with proven ability to communicate complex commercial and marketinformation and analysis to all organizational levels
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal staff and external consultants vendors and other stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite or similar
