Job Description
Amazons Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to provide products counselling support within Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS offers a wide range of IT products and services for cloud customers including ondemand compute storage database messaging and other softwareasservice products.
In this role youll serve as an attorney supporting Just Walk Out technology working closely with internal business clients to advise on complex legal issues support new product and feature launches and provide subject matter expertise on regulatory and compliance issues.
The successful candidate must be inquisitive enthusiastic about technology enjoy working hard and being continually challenged and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily business.
Key job responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include: identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies; advising on regulatory issues (including payments accessibility and procurementrelated issues) and overseeing compliance negotiating strategic technology agreements and providing input on business strategy. You also will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative businesscentric ways and help build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly.
2 years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and inhouse work
Experience in web services/cloud computing software licensing telecommunications or equivalent
Experience with technology transactions data privacy procurement payments
Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense
Experience with technology or policy and regulatory compliance strategy
Ability to work both independently and as part of a crossfunctional team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Sound and practical business judgment
Excellent organizational skills ability to manage multiple projects at once follow through and meet deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
