QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High School Diploma G.E.D. or satisfactory progress towards G.E.D.
Knowledge Of:
Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer email and websites
Classroom management techniques
Documentation and recordkeeping techniques
Communication skills
Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
Monitor students and assure proper conduct in the lunchroom. Help establish and maintain a calm and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria so that students may find mealtime a time to relax after the tasks of the morning and to refresh themselves for the tasks of the afternoon; to maintain cleanliness of food service facilities.
Essential Functions Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor students and assure proper conduct in the lunchroom.
Collaborate with food service staff and principal to best meet the needs of the school and students as necessary.
Helps students develop and observe proper dining habits both in terms of etiquette and nutrition.
Circulate among tables during the meal period to be available to help students as needed.
Demonstrate a positive attitude towards good nutrition.
Follow all safety and emergency procedures established by the district and/or school.
Maintain the cleanliness and order of the lunchroom.
Protect confidential information of students and fellow staff members.
Assure compliance with federal state and district policy administrative procedures and all other procedures/policies applicable to assignment.
Prioritize plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines.
Follow proper reporting procedures for all matters including but not limited to behavioral issues bullying suspected child abuse or neglect etc.
If approved as a substitute lunchroom monitor you will be required to complete all state and Board mandated trainings.
