SUMMARY
This is paraprofessional work responsible for serving as a liaison ensuring quality control providing training and case management within the Juvenile Delinquency Citation Program at the Gainesville Police Department in support of the Alachua County Program
Employees in this role report to a designated supervisor and operate under general supervision. This position is distinguished from others by its focus on administrative responsibilities related to the programs operations and outcomes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Shall serve as a conduit between the Gainesville Police Department and the Juvenile Delinquency Citation program operated in Alachua County.
Shall work with the local law enforcement community and other county stakeholders to build and maintain support for juvenile delinquency citation and to improve related processes.
Assist with followups in the City of Gainesville schools as requested/directed by the Alachua County Juvenile Delinquency Program.
Assist GPD officers with verifying eligibility for a youths participation in the local juvenile delinquency citation program.
Review all juvenile related criminal related arrests on a daily basis to verify if the youth would have qualified for the juvenile delinquency citation program.
Review all report narratives.
If there is an identified missed opportunity the program coordinator shall report the information to their assigned supervisor for set notification protocols.
Assist the juvenile delinquency citation program in City of Gainesville and Alachua County with obtaining referrals for youth eligible for services.
Review all Gainesville Police Department (GPD) referrals for accuracy (applicable charges etc.. Forward the reviewed referrals to the Alachua County juvenile delinquency citation program.
Conduct case management on all refereed youths.
Track the status of cases with a status of tracking reoffend and/or case resolution.
Responsible for collecting organizing and maintaining programrelated statistical data in an orderly manner to ensure accurate and clear reporting for internal teams and external stakeholders. Prepares reports analyzes trends and presents key insights to support decisionmaking and program evaluation.
Conduct time sensitive checks on youth referred to verify if new violations have occurred.
If a violation has occurred the coordinator will notify the Alachua County Juvenile Delinquency Citation program and document it in case management.
Meet with DJJ Civil Citation Liaison for Circuit 8 at least once monthly.
Review each youth from within the City of Gainesville and/or Alachua County who is participating in the juvenile delinquency citation program to ensure that each youth has had a Prevention Assessment Tool (PAT) assessment and that sanctions and services have been initiated.
Meet with the Circuit 8 Chief Probation Officer (or designee) monthly to ensure that all City of Gainesville and/or Alachua County needs have been addressed and any issues identified.
Attend teen court on a weekly basis.
Conduct annual civil citation training courses for all GPD personnel and any other appropriate stakeholders and present on civil citation at local conferences and stakeholder meetings.
Services shall be limited to the referral of youth to the juvenile delinquency citation program in Alachua County for youth in need of case management services and delinquency intervention services.
Develops or acquires program materials including brochures newsletters handouts bulletin boards displays exhibits and other required equipment and supplies.
Serve as an inhouse expert.
Serves as liaison to program.
Develop community partnerships for programming events and projects.
Assists with maintaining agency accreditation.
Develops an inventory of current and potential partners sponsors collaborators.
Provides regular progress reports to supervisor.
Attends staff meetings and participates in organizationwide planning activities.
Prepares and submits related reports and documents updates and maintains computerized tracking/monitoring systems.
Coordinates events and interfaces with other related City events and events sponsored by other organizations.
Coordinates with local state and federal agencies organizations and individuals relating to program issues.
Interacts with citizens and ensures the highest quality of internal and external customer service possible in all activities.
Stays current on developments in program trends.
Attends work on continuous and regular basis.
NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Coordinates record keeping and filing systems and destruction of records.
May be responsible for enforcing the drug policy based on physical location and organizational structure.
May be required to work with information of a confidential and sensitive nature.
May be required to make oral presentations to community groups advisory boards or City/County Commissions.
May be required to join and actively participate in professional organizations related to the assigned jobs discipline.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education experience knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor degree from an accredited four 4 year college or university in a criminal justice social science or social workrelated field and oneyear professional experience working in a criminal justice or case management position is preferred).
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
LICENSES
A valid United States Driver License is required on appointment. Valid Florida Driver License required within thirty 30 days of start date.
CERTIFICATIONS
Staff shall successfully complete the Departments curriculum for the following training courses:
Balanced Approach to Restorative Justice; Central Communications Center (CCC); Child Abuse Recognition Reporting and Prevention; Civil Rights; Confidentiality/HIPAA; Diversity; Equal Employment Opportunity; Human Trafficking Intervention; Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS); Professionalism Interpersonal Communication and Ethics; Quality Report Writing; Sexual Harassment; Suicide Awareness and Prevention; and Trauma Responsive Practices.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of principles practices and concepts related to planning developing directing and administering assigned programs and events related issues and operational environments.
Ability to analyze program effectiveness and make recommendations for change and improvement.
Working knowledge of and the ability to make informed decisions in accordance with laws ordinances and statutes governing Federal/State grant funding.
Basic knowledge of government finance accounting and purchasing practices policies and procedures.
Demonstrable working knowledge of personal computers and department related software.
Knowledge of program coordination concepts principles and operation.
Ability to perform program management functions including the ability to plan assign and supervise the work of others.
Ability to organize and conduct educational programs and events.
Ability to gather information maintain accurate records and prepare moderately complex reports.
Ability to prepare effective correspondence on sensitive and confidential matters.
Ability to perform mathematical computations rapidly and accurately.
Ability to effectively work with and communicate with both orally and in writing the general public private public and corporate funders and foundations business owners community leaders board members and City employees.
Ability to exercise good judgment tact and diplomacy in all public contacts.

To perform this job successfully an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.
