Job Summary
The Beau Jos Assistant General Manager (AGM) assists the General Manager (GM) in the daytoday operations of the restaurant. This can include maintenance appearance customer relations and staff. The AGM is also responsible for maintaining standards for quality service safety and sanitation. You are the restaurants ambassador in the local community and will strive to encompass and understand localities for your restaurant in coordination with your GM support departments and your Operations Team.
Work Activities
The work activities include but are not limited to:
Recruitment/ Onboarding
- Assist in interviewing and the hire of nonmanagerial restaurant staff
- Ensure proper interviewing is completed and discussed with the GM to identify the best candidates for the open position
- Assist in ensuring onboarding is completed for new hires and rehires within 3 calendar days
Training
- Assist in the implementation of training and train all restaurant staff on Beau Jos Management Companies standards best practices and policies.
- Determine when new training or retraining opportunities are needed in coordination with your GM and supporting departments for yourself and the staff.
Restaurant Operations
- Participate in regular store meetings.
- Optimize profit margin by controlling costs
- Order receive and rotate product as necessary
- Process vendor invoices
- Scheduling employees as delegated using ScheduleFly to ensure proper shift coverage during times of high demand and low demand
- Enforcing food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety and food consistency
- Promoting and coordinating restaurant events and finding ways to bring in more customers
- Handling customer complaints or escalating (as needed)
- Engaging daily with customers to ascertain feedback regarding menu items and desires for future considerations
- Resolving staff concerns and complaints documenting attendance performance/behavioral and safety concerns or escalating as needed
- Completing necessary (e)paperwork with high attentiontodetail such as sales inventory and staff reports
- Adherence to Beau Jos Management Companys standards quality expectations procedures and safety initiatives
- All other reasonable duties as assigned by the GM

Job Context
The AGM will be scheduled and work a minimum of 45 hours weekly. Each restaurant will have their own setup and design which includes stairs uneven flooring and slippery conditions. Each location has at least one 1 general manager and two 2 assistant managers (depending on size) you will additionally have front of the house and back of the house employees. While occasional sitting will be required walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. will be needed. Working hours are determined by the needs of the Company and the restaurants as well as scheduled events. You will lead by example to all staff to include your professionalism appearance and leadership skills.
Work Performance
The AGM will be evaluated on a quarterly basis by the VP of Operations Area Manager and General Manager. Your performance is measured on:
- Ability to be organized multitask and prioritize during periods of stress while remaining patient and focused
- Customer Service skills and ability to resolve customer concerns/ complaints
- Labor costs Safety Incidents Food & Alcohol Sales (InStore & ToGo)
- Each location has assigned metrics that will be communicated with you
- Customer reviews & secret shopper feedback
Job Competencies
Upon hire the Assistant General Manager must:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent a/o a minimum of 1 year of recent restaurant management experience with proven results
- Have a valid drivers license
- Understand profit and loss statements
- Be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
- Be accessible and available during restaurant operating hours
After hire or within 60 days of hire the Assistant General Manager must:
- Learn Beau Jos Management Companies policies and procedures
- Ability to successfully complete 8090 of the Management Training Checklist to include Additional Training
- Complete Training for Intervention Procedures (TiPS) and Pass
COMPENSATION:
The annual salary for this role is $56485.00 paid on a biweekly basis.
