Exciting Opportunity: 4H Mentoring Coordinator (PartTime Flexible Hours!

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth Do you believe in the power of mentorship and community Join our dynamic 4H Mentoring team and help shape the future of young individuals in Davis County!

About Us: Since 2001 4H Mentoring has been a transformative communitybased program serving youth ages 915 who could benefit from oneonone mentoring. We focus on providing guidance friendship and positive role models to youth who may come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

We are expanding into Davis County serving youth and families. This is an exciting opportunity to build and grow a new mentoring program with the support of an established team across the state.

What Youll Do:

  • Engage with atrisk youth mentors and families to build meaningful relationships.
  • Organize and facilitate exciting monthly eventsthink fun interactive and growthfocused activities!
  • Travel to local schools 4H events and mentees homes in Davis County. (Reliable transportation is a must!
  • Establish local partnerships to recruit youth and mentors
  • Collaborate with an experienced mentoring team that provides guidance and support.
  • Create a supportive and enriching environment that fosters belonging independence generosity and mastery for youth.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain 25 mentor/mentee matches at your site
  • Recruiting/Retention of volunteer adult mentors
  • Interview and screen volunteer adult mentors
  • Recruiting/Retention of youth and families for the program
  • Plan and implement monthly Mentor/Mentee events
  • Plan and implement Family Night Out events (every other month)
  • Attend all staff meetings and trainings (trainings are held virtually)
  • Plan and implement trainings for mentors
  • Maintain site data (volunteers families/youth surveys etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work effectively with volunteers youth and families
  • Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Applications Google Drive Gmail Social Media)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • SelfStarter good followthrough
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Must have a high level of confidentiality
  • Evenings are open and/or flexible

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College education
  • Mentoring experience working with children youth and families
  • Past experience in the 4H as a youth or volunteer
  • Past experience working with nonprofits community organizations
  • Events Planning
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

The Site Coordinator position requires a combination of indoor and outdoor activities depending on program needs and scheduled events.


Indoor Duties: This position involves work in an office event space or public setting where employees are protected from direct exposure to weather conditions but may experience variations in temperature. Tasks may require extended periods of sitting frequent use of a computer and repetitive hand motions such as typing and writing.


Outdoor Duties: Some responsibilities take place in outdoor environments where employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions including heat cold and precipitation. Outdoor activities may require standing or walking for extended periods during events as well as occasional lifting and transporting of materials up to 25 pounds. Employees should be able to navigate event spaces assist with basic setup and breakdown of materials and engage with program participants in both structured and informal settings.


Physical Requirements: This position involves moderate physical activity including walking standing and lifting light materials as needed. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may occasionally be required to use protective equipment.
