Job Description

Overview
The Sr Technologist Ammonia plays a crucial role in the development and optimization of ammonia production processes within our organization. This position is essential for enhancing our operational capacities improving efficiency and ensuring product quality while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. The Sr Technologist will be responsible for leading technical projects and providing innovative solutions to complex challenges faced in ammonia production. This role demands a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and practical experience in ammonia synthesis. The individual will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop methods for increasing yield and reducing waste ensuring that our manufacturing processes are competitive and sustainable. As a senior member of the team this position will also involve mentoring junior staff and driving best practices in technology and safety across all ammonia operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and optimize ammonia production processes.
  • Lead technical projects from conception to implementation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
  • Develop technical specifications and process documentation.
  • Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior staff.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Prepare and present reports to management on project status.
  • Facilitate crossdepartmental communication regarding technical issues.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements related to ammonia production.
  • Support sustainability initiatives within the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Master s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in ammonia or chemical processing.
  • Proven track record in process design and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering.
  • Experience with safety management systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance for chemical processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work in crossfunctional teams effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Capability to mentor and train junior team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and simulations.
  • Willingness to travel to production sites as needed.
