Overview
The Control M Admin/Dollar Universe Admin plays a pivotal role in the management and operation of scheduling software solutions within the organization. This position is crucial for ensuring that the businesss workflows are executed without disruptions thereby guaranteeing that operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Admin is responsible for implementing configuring and maintaining job scheduling environments allowing various departments to meet deadlines and optimize resource use. By managing job workflows and schedules the Control M Admin/Dollar Universe Admin contributes significantly to overall productivity reliability and availability of critical applications and systems. The individual in this role must possess both technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members across the organization. They will anticipate needs and resolve scheduling conflicts proactively ensuring that all jobs adhere to best practices for operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Install configure and maintain Control M and Dollar Universe software.
- Design implement and manage complex job scheduling workflows.
- Monitor job executions and troubleshoot failures or discrepancies promptly.
- Provide regular reporting on job status and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify scheduling requirements.
- Optimize job scheduling to improve resource utilization and performance.
- Manage and maintain security settings and permissions for users.
- Conduct regular system audits and patch management activities.
- Develop and maintain documentation for processes and procedures.
- Implement and support backup and recovery strategies for job scheduling environments.
- Train and support team members in using scheduling tools effectively.
- Identify automation opportunities within job processes.
- Respond to ticket requests and incidents related to job scheduling.
- Coordinate maintenance windows and communications during downtime.
- Stay updated on the latest features and enhancements of scheduling applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- At least 35 years of experience in job scheduling administration.
- Proficiency in Control M and/or Dollar Universe administration.
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Shell Python or PowerShell.
- Experience with SQL and database management systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of operating system environments such as UNIX/Linux and Windows.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detailoriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Certifications related to Control M or scheduling software are a plus.
- Willingness to participate in oncall support as needed.
