Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Surveyor/GPS Technician to join our team in West Chester OH. This role is essential for supporting civil construction projects including earthwork paving structures and underground utilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy highway and civil construction and experience with GPSbased construction layout and survey systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate construction layout data and machine control/survey models to support field production.
- Create manage and maintain standardized GPS survey models for various project operations.
- Perform calculations for alignments drainage structures and roadway modeling.
- Conduct quality control checks on data and survey calculations to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with field teams to optimize the use of GPS construction data.
- Address and resolve problems as project needs evolve.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for GPS construction layout.
- Schedule and coordinate tasks with field operations.
- Uphold company values in all aspects of the role and assist in leading or directing others when needed.
Qualifications:
- At least six months of experience with GPS and construction field layout in heavy civil construction.
- Proficiency with Trimble survey equipment and software including Trimble Business Center GPS base and Rover.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problemsolving skills.
- Familiarity with heavy highway and civil survey practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks meet deadlines and adapt to changing project requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Prior experience in heavy civil construction is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
