This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be selfmotivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.
This position serves as a Division Grants Administrator with a complex degree of scope and multiple functions. Responsible for weekly invoicing process for SEOs Grants and Contracts. Processes reimbursement requests from sub grantees and/or subrecipients. Reconciles monthly expenditure reports. Coordinate review and evaluate federal and state grants for compliance accuracy and accountability of financial programs and business operations related to the unique grant programs.
Key Responsibilities:
The DEQ State Energy Office serves as the agent of energy planning and program development to ensure a sustainable energy future for the citizens of North Carolina. This Division provides services and technical expertise on energy efficiency encourages the growth and development of the states energy economy and works to increase the use of renewable energy and alternative fuels. The State Energy Office supports energy efficiency in public buildings by assisting North Carolina governmental units manage the use and cost of electricity water and other utilities in their facilities. The State Energy Office provides programs services and technical expertise for advancing energy efficiency increasing alternative energy and fuel sources providing educational opportunities for the public state and local governments universities schools and businesses and working closely with other state agencies in responding to energy emergencies during natural disasters and supply interruptions.
The State Energy Office Business Office is a centralized unit committed to provide a variety of accounting financial budget and purchasing services for the SEO. Responsibilities include a broad range of departmental accounting functions in the following areas: accounts payable accounts receivable purchasing travel maintenance of accounting system federal funds contract management and financial reporting.
