The Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems part of the Defense Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a cleared Technical Writer to work in our San Antonio Texasoffice. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (HNCD) Air Force Lifecycle Management Center and other DoD missions. Your role will be to support our diverse portfolio of programs through a combination of software design and development hardware interfacing and integration laboratory experimentation ground and flight testing to deploy cutting edge next generation solutions.
Leidos is seeking a talented and experienced Information Technology Technical Writer to join our team. As an IT Technical Writer you will be responsible for creating and maintaining highquality technical documentation for our software products IT systems and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information technology excellent writing skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Documenting Software and Systems: Produce clear concise and comprehensive technical documentation for software applications IT systems and processes ensuring accessibility and ease of understanding for users and stakeholders alike.
- User Guides and Manuals: Produce userfriendly guides manuals and tutorials to empower users in efficiently navigating and leveraging our products and services to their fullest potential.
- Technical Specifications: Collaborate closely with software developers engineers and stakeholders to gather precise technical specifications and requirements ensuring accuracy and relevance in documentation projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Remain abreast of industry trends best practices and emerging technologies in information technology and technical writing driving continuous enhancement of documentation processes and standards to uphold excellence and relevance.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in English Journalism Communications or a related discipline with 4 years of relevant experience or a Masters degree with 2 years of experience.
- Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
- Demonstrated experience writing and editing government documentation.
- Experience writing editing producing and overseeing reports presentations and/or similar documentation; experience editing technical journal articles research papers manuscripts and/or books; knowledge of the endtoend documentation process from intake to printed and electronic output and distribution.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate and advocate disciplinerelated knowledge services and programs.
- Capable of transforming complicated subject matter and diverse source material into accurate coherent and engaging content for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team in a highly flexible work environment.
- Demonstrated creative and technical initiative and resourcefulness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Suite SharePoint Jira Confluence.
- Must be a US citizen and possess a minimum of a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- Proven experience in managing and delivering projects on time and within budget with a strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g. Agile Scrum Waterfall).
- Basic understanding of technical concepts relating to software development engineering and networking.

Pay Range $63700.00 $115150.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
