Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our accounting department at Hawaiian Building Maintenance on a temporary fulltime basis. The ideal candidate will drive the accounting team and lead the monthly close process. This position requires a strong background in accounting leadership skills a handson approach to getting the work done and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Monthly Close Process: Oversee and manage the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. This includes preparing and reviewing journal entries account reconciliations payroll AR/AP and financial statements.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the accounting team consisting of Accounting Manager Financial Analyst two Accountants and three AP Administrators.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies in all financial reporting. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and Board of Directors highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Internal Controls: Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- CrossDepartment Collaboration: Work closely with other departments including operations and human resources to ensure alignment and support for financial initiatives and goals.
- Familiarity with accounting system conversion and process automation is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA orCMA certification at external audit firm is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Location: In person
Schedule: Monday to Friday Weekend as needed.
Pay: $125000.00 $140000.00 per year
