About the Position
Girton Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic Student Support Officer (SSO) to assist students with literacy numeracy and communication skills in a classroom setting. This is a shortterm leave replacement position that provides the perfect opportunity to build professional relationships and gain valuable experience in education.
- The role is a fixedterm leave replacement position for Term 2 only.
- 22/04/2025 until 27/06/2025.
- The role is 31.25 hours per week 0.82 FTE).
As the SSO you will:
- Support students under the direct instruction of the teaching staff.
- Assist in the implementation of planned education programs supporting the literacynumeracy communication skills and physical needs of students at risk.
- Develop professional relationships with staff parents and students.

Key Selection Criteria
- To be eligible to apply you must hold existing work rights to work in Australia
- Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent relevant experience desirable.
- Working with Children Check Card (Employee)
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with an ability to work collaboratively and respectfully as part of a team
- Commitment to student wellbeing and child safety demonstrating an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children including children with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
